Dr. George J. Mendel
is a native of New Castle, Pennsylvania
. He completed his undergraduate degree at Gannon University, Erie Pennsylvania majoring in Pure and Applied Science. After earning his doctorate in Dental Medicine from Temple University, Philadelphia Pennsylvania, in 1985, he worked for several years in Pittsburgh before opening his dental practice in Shenango Township.
Dr. Mendel has been operating his comprehensive, family oriented dental practice in this area for over 26 years. His wife, Maureen, joined the practice as a receptionist in 1997. A registered nurse, Maureen enjoys continued work in the health care spectrum with her husband. Dr. Mendel and his wife have three children, Matthew, Brittany, and Caitlyn.
Dr. Mendel values continuing education and organized dentistry, and is a member of the American Dental Association, Pennsylvania Dental Association, and Lawrence County Dental Association (past president.) Being an avid outdoorsman, he enjoys hunting and fishing with his son and yellow lab, "Remington." He is also active in sporting clubs such as "Fur, Fin, and Feather" and "Mahoning Sportsmen Club." Woodworking is also a hobby, with mastering his Compucarve CNC as his latest passion.
